A much loved neighbour and friend from our days at Whittinghams Way. Always the lady, Ankie will be sorely missed. Heartfelt condolences to Joe and the family.March 23, 2021
Ankie, loved unconditionally, adored her kids and in-laws, and especially her grandkids, and anyone that came to their home. She was the most hospitable person and generous in every way. She was the best grandmother, one I aspired to be like. She was a great cook who gave all her recipes to anyone who asked, my book has heaps of them, and they will be continually baked and eaten by all who have enjoyed Ankie’s cooking. I will certainly miss Ankie, but have many many fond memories. Joe we love you. You had an amazing woman beside you. Be continually praying for you.March 23, 2021
As a friend of Steve’s I remember going to their house in our wild college days and being accepted with open arms, she made her kids friends feel at ease and welcome. What a beautiful soul.March 23, 2021
My love and prayers to Joe and family.March 23, 2021
I still have very strong memories of going to the Van Rooy’s after church with the youth group to enjoy a great feed. Mrs Van Rooy always put on a marvellous spread filled with love.
In Gods Hands now ❤️

Of course we didn’t have so much contact since we live on the other side of the world, but we visited Oom Joop and Tante Ank in 2014, and that was very special. We also met the rest of that great family and we want to address our deeply condolences to you all. We wish you all the strength to carry that loss,

Ankie was a dear friend of my parents Matty and Cor Valk. After my mother died suddenly in 2003 Ankie and Joe kept in contact with Cor, and over the past 2 years visited him regularly in aged care. Such loyal friendship I am very grateful for. Thank you Joe. My heart goes out to you at the sudden unexpected death of your dearly beloved. The peace of the Lord be with you.March 25, 2021
