I will remember your kindness, in countless pick-ups and drop offs at inopportune times, to faraway places all over Gippsland. You patiently ferried us wherever Sara suggested for very last minute plans (you did not raise an organised daughter). I will remember your welcoming heart and generosity, every time I turned up for lunch or dinner or just to hang around for the day. I will remember the way you always displayed such patience and tolerance. We were the usual, self-absorbed teenager types and you never made us feel like a pain or a burden. You never laughed at our latest, ridiculous, experimental outfits or pretentious opinions. You always chuckled and rolled your eyes and sighed good naturedly and let us be. May I be half the mum you were. I’ll certainly try.February 6, 2021

I was always intrigued by her having such long plaits . How can I ever live up to your example? I miss you so much already. The dogs are snoring away on my feet and I just wish you were here to see it and share a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. Thank you for being my mum and for teaching me the meaning of unconditional love and for making me the woman I am today. You will live in my heart forever. ❤February 13, 2021
