All the men at the Leongatha Mens Shed send heartfelt condolences to all of Jim’s family and to everyone who knew and loved Jim. He was a unique man who will be missed. Our hearts and minds will be full of many memories of our times spent with an amazing man called Jim. The Leongatha Cycling Club wish to express there sympathy to the Geary families on the sad passing of Jim. A life member involved in the club since 1959.A handicapper and helped with the running of races over many years. We all have happy and funny memories of you Jim may you now rest. 😌. 🚴

Jim was such a lovely man I first remember meeting through my first aid training course in the early 1990’s. I went home from the first evening and told my Dad who the leading trainer was. He chuckled and said “He was in the job, too”. When I mentioned this comment to Jim the following week and disclosed my family details, he had many funny stories to tell about my Dad as a young bloke and, my grandfather during his teaching career.

A man much admired, liked and respected by several generations of my family, particularly my Dad and paternal Grandfather. In their memory and, recalling my own time with Jim, I wish to extend our sympathies to the extended Geary family.

South Gippsland Woodworkers offer sincere condolences to Norm, Sandy, Jenny and families on the passing of Jim, a wonderful woodworker. His fabulous sense of humour, fine scroll work, and a hardworking member of the group will be greatly missed.

As a long time member of the Leongatha Probus Club, Jim was a very involved and great contributor in every way. Jim really cared about people and wanted to help wherever he could. He was a wonderful friend to many. Jim’s impish sense of humour leaves us with many happy memories. A true gentleman and a life well lived. We are the richer for knowing Jim. Vale Jim. Rest peacefully.
